A Perfect Place
I have just left this property for my partners 30th birthday celebrations. What a perfect place to spend the weekend in good company, knowing we have everything we needed for the weekend. There was plenty of space for all of us. We loved having the fires on and bonus that we could bring our dogs! Lots of lovely walks around but a 5 minute drive away is a stunning walk which takes you up to a waterfall which was beautiful, if you are staying i’d really recommend going. I managed to cook for 12 people all weekend with no trouble, plenty of cutlery and utensils. All in all a lovely wholesome weekend, thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!
The house was perfect
We had a fabulous weekend at this lovely cottage. The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed. The highlight though is the location, and we could have spent all day and evening just sitting watching the river. The local pub (the FBI) was really handy for pizza and an evening drink, and we also took the ferry into Dartmouth for lunch. We very much enjoyed our trip on the tiny passenger ferry over to Agatha Christie’s house, Greenway (ring the bell on the quay, and it heads over to pick you up) and overall our weather was kind.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge, it was spacious and super well-equipped with everything you could hope for, for a short stay. We did have an issue with the gas being turned off resulting in no hot water, but hopefully this is something that can be avoided for the next set of guests! Aside from that, it was perfect and we had a lovely time. Location wise it is beautiful, even though I would recommend arriving when it’s still light as it can be tricky to find in the dark!
Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted
The house recently featured on ‘Celebrity Help my House is haunted’ on the Discovery Channel. The film team commented that they had “rarely encountered such warm and friendly atmosphere”, and all those who visit notice a peace and warmth that is hard to explain. We leave it to those who visit to make their own judgment, but can neither guarantee a meeting with our long-standing houseguests, nor be responsible in any way if you do. All we ask is that you are respectful of the house and those from down the centuries, to whom some believe it is still home.
